Golfing is an international game and there is hardly any country in the world without a golf course and Myanmar {Burma} is no exception. Many towns in Myanmar has at least one golf course if not more. Yangon {Rangoon}, for instance, has many golf courses. One named Pun Hlaing Golf Course designed by Gary Player, is supposed to be of international standard. Bagan Golf Course is set among century old pagodas and Ayetharya Golf Course is beautifully laid out in the shadow of the blue hazy mountains of southern Shan State. Many had heard of Mt.Popa but few know that there is also a golf course there. One golf course that is one of the oldest in the country is at Thayetmyo in Central Myanmar. It is said to have links with the famous St. Andrews Golf Course and had just turned 100 years just a few years back.
