THAILAND / MYANMAR COMBINE TOUR

Itinerary

Day 01 BANGKOK – YANGON with Am flight

Meet on arrival at Yangon Airport and transfer to hotel. Upon arrival Yangon, visit Sule Pagoda, Maha Bandoola Park with Independence Monument, located at the heart of the city, Chaukhtatgyi reclining Buddha image. Lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon visit the Bogyoke market- a shopping market with more than 2000 shops selling all kinds of products but of special mention is the beautiful exotic “Shan Bag” velvet slippers, lacquer ware and all sorts of handicraft.

Then evening visit to the 2,500 years old magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda sheathed in 11 tons of pure gold and 4,350 diamonds weighing 1800 carats! At sunset, the Shwedagon offers visitor a spectacular show of lights and shadows.
Dinner at outside local restaurants. Overnight at Hotel. ( B,L,D )

Day 02 YANGON – BAGAN by Am flight

After breakfast at the hotel, you will transfer to airport for flight to Bagan. On arrival you’ll be taken to Shwezigon Pagoda a prototype of later Myanmar stupa. Then to Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi Temple with fine mural pain-tings of Jataka scenes. After that , transfer to Hotel for check-in.

Afternoon sightseeing tour continues with visits to lacquerware industry where you can study traditional Myanmar lacquerware making, Manuha Temple with gigantic Buddha images, a captive king's impression of life in prison; Nanpaya, an Early-style temple with the finest stone carvings. Although it has spots lights installed, it would be safer to bring your own touch as electricity supply can be shut-off from time to time.

In the evening you will be visiting the Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece resembling a Greek Cross.
Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight at Hotel. ( B,L,D )

Day 03 BAGAN - MANDALAY by Am flight

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transfer to airport for flight to Mandalay. On arrival to Tada-Oo International Airport, you will be proceeding to famous Mahamuni Pagoda, one of the most sacred Buddha Image in Mandalay. Then a short visit to Gold foil making cottage industry. Check-in at hotel and followed by lunch at outside local restaurant.

After lunch you will be enjoying Mandalay afternoon sightseeing that begins with Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings; Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the World’s Biggest Book for its stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures. Tour continues to Mandalay Hill, a vantage point for a panoramic view of the city and a spectacular sunset view.

It is worthy to have a stroll up the hill enjoying panoramic views from different location. Return can be made by car as there is also a car track by the base of elevator just before the platform. Dinner at outside local restaurant. Overnight at Hotel. ( B,L,D )

Day 04 MANDALAY - AMARAPURA – INWA – MANDALAY

After breakfast at hotel, visit to an ancient city of Amarapura, 11 km south of Mandalay highlighting Bagaya Monastery with a famous collection of Buddha images; Maha Gandayon Monastery. Then proceed to 1.2 km long U Bein Wooden Bridge, built since 1782 with over 1700 huge teak pillars, is one of the worth visiting sites. The clients can have leisurely walk on the almost 1 mile long bridge

Then visit to Inwa ( Ava ), a historical capital founded by King Thado Minbya in 1364. Extended visit will be made to Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery which is a fine example of Myanmar masonry art and architecture, Mainu Brick Monastery and old watch tower. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Hotel. ( B,L,D )

Day 05 MANDALAY – HEHO - INLE LAKE ( Indein )

After breakfast, transfer to Airport for fly to Heho. Upon arrival Heho airport, transfer to the Nyaung Shwe Jetty for Inle Lake excursion. Visit to Indein by boat. The hidden treasure of Pao Tribes people. Sightseeing sport are Indein Pagoda and local workshops.

Then return to Inle and afternoon visit to Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, Silver & gold smith, cheroot making, black smith and cotton and silk weaving Industry.

Excursion continue to Inle Lake ( by jetty boat ), famous for its unique leg-rowers and scenic beauty. Tour highlights: Paungdaw Oo Pagoda; wonderful floating gardens; native methods of fishing.
Lunch at outside local restaurants. Dinner and overnight at Hotel. ( B,L,D )

Day 06 INLE LAKE – HEHO – KYAING TONG by flight

After breakfast at hotel, visit morning market and Nyaung Shwe. Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon transfer to Heho airport for fly to Kyaing Tong. Upon arrival Kyaing Tong, enjoy the evening sightseeing like Lone Tree Hill & Town View Point, U Mulein Da’s Tai Khun Lacquerware Works & Sightseeing around the Naung Tong Lake & The standing big Buddha Image built on Zoam-sak Hill with Khmer background history.
Dinner and overnight at Princess Hotel. ( B,L,D )

Day 07 Kyaing Tong

American Breakfast at Hotel. Morning visit to Kyaing Tong Bazaar and meeting multi hill tribes. Hiking to Hokyin “Akha” people villages. Observing traditional Yan-gone Pottery Work. Visiting RCM Church, former times’ Italian Missionary. Lunch with lunch box. Visit Akha Centre Village and Weaving Works where traditional clothes are made before exporting to Thailand. Dancing “Lan Woan” in Loi-Lone village with full-dressed “Khun” beautiful girls. Dinner and Overnight at Princess Hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 08 Kyaing Tong – Tachileik by car – Chiang Rai

After breakfast at Hotel 5 minutes walk to Kyaing Tong Bazaar & see many minority people shopping in morning. Then visit “ Maha Myatmuni phaya gyi “ the most glorious temple of Kyaing Tong. Lunch at local restaurant. The highest “ Zoam Taung Pagoda” & Blacksmithing Works nearby the Pagoda. Several Century years old wooden Wet- In Monastery.

Then drive to Tachileik border at Mae Sai in Chiangrai, welcome by our staff . Continue to visit the heart of the renowned Golden Triangle where the Ruak and Mekong rivers meet. You can stand on a hilltop and enjoy views over Burma ( Mynmar ), Laos, Thailand and the mighty Mekong River. Lunch at Imperial Golden Triangle. Transfer to visit Chiang Saen, the historical city, then transfer to Chiangrai for check-in. Dinner and overnight at hotel. ( B,L,D )

Day 09 Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai

Breakfast . After breakfast, depart on long –tailed boat for three hour journey along river passing tiny hilltribe village, bamboo huts and jungle, the first visit the life of Karen hilltribe village , next to visit long neck Karen . Continue to Chiangmai . Lunch at local restaurant.

After lunch drive through beautiful scenery to Chiangmai for visit Doi Suthep temple reached by a Naga ( dragon-headed serpent ) staircase of 306 steps. The less energetic will pleased to know that there is a cable car up the hill on a clear day the parnoramic views of the city from the temples grounds are truly spectacular. Evening enjoy Kantoke Dinner . Traditional dishes will be served while you watch elegant dancers performing a series of folk stories. Colorfully dressed, hill tribes will perform their own traditional dances after dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 Chiang Mai

Breakfast. Full day elephant safari + bamboo rafting & ox cart tour
Visit the Mae Ping elephant camp first to see show. You get a chance on the ride elephants crossing the Mae Ping river and up the hill. This last about 1 hour. Then they return by ox-cart to the elephant village where rafting and adventure starts from here and last for approximate 45 minutes along the Mae Ping river where this place is relatively unspoiled. Then return to hotel on the way visit one of the region’s orchid farms displaying a full variety of some of Thailand’s exquisite blooms. Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon you will visit the district of Sankampaeng, home to Chiangmai ‘ s famous cottage industries. Which how artisans continue make their products by hand and you will of course have the opportunity to hunt for the perfect souvenir. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 Chiang Mai – Bangkok

Breakfast at hotel. At leisure until check – out time for transfer to Chiangmai airport for departure flight to Bangkok. ( TG 107 at 1225/1335 hrs ).
Arrive at Bangkok domestic airport, transfer to your Bangkok hotel.
